Hanson operates internationally but has a local focus. We encourage our local managers to build and maintain close links with our local community. Whether it is through employment opportunities, sponsorship, open days or environmental initiatives, we respond appropriately to the differing needs and interests of communities.
Hanson cares for Coastcare
Hanson has been a long term supporter of Coastcare, providing funds for a variety of Coastcare initiatives. In 2005/2006 Hanson provided funding for various projects.

Hanson assists in saving the Fairy Penguins
The Derwent Estuary Penguin Project aims to help the fairy penguin population survive. The program has installed artificial burrows for the penguins. Hanson has provided the pavers for the floors of these burrows.

Hanson assisted community group Bravehearts renovate their premises, Bravehearts is a charity organisation that provides a safe, secure and comforting environment for children and their families receiving counselling for issues associated with abuse.

Hanson brings Christmas to the kids at Stewart House
For the past 75 years, Stewart House has provided short term respite care for children in need. Every year, Hanson donates gifts from the Hanson Kids Christmas Party to Stewart House.
