Hanson produces high quality aggregates throughout Australia. Quarrying provides society with the vital raw materials to build homes, roads, railways, airports, schools and hospitals and to give us clean drinking water and effective sewerage systems.
Quarrying also brings with it a responsibility to protect and preserve valuable and finite raw materials and to minimise the effect of quarrying on both the landscape and the communities in which we operate.
We meet our own demanding internal quality standards for aggregates for our large premixed concrete and asphalt operations. We also meet the quality needs of our external customers in the building and construction sectors.
We operate a large fleet of company and contractor owned trucks for delivery of aggregates to our customers. We also use ships and rail transport where appropriate.
All our quarries meet Australian Standards for quarry products. We have over 40 years of experience and depth of technical resources to ensure that we stay in the forefront of technological advances in quarrying.
We have led the industry in production of manufactured sand, a sustainable long-term option to replace quickly depleting natural sand deposits in Australia.
We pride ourselves on the quality of our site revegetation and quarry rehabilitation and have won numerous awards for environmental excellence.
